Methodology
Measurement should be explainable.
Published references
The reference point comes from published external standards, frameworks and requirements rather than criteria invented by METRIS™.
Evidence
Findings carry the evidence supporting them.
Coverage
METRIS™ reports what it could assess and what it could not.
Remeasurement
The same measurement can be repeated over time so organizations can see whether readiness changed.
Frameworks help define what matters. METRIS™ measures where the organization stands.
Measured against published standards, frameworks and requirements including NIST, ISO/IEC, the EU AI Act, OECD and OWASP.
Verifiable record
Governance measurements can produce a dated record that can be independently checked.

What we are explicit about
METRIS™ measures the organization around the AI, through Workforce Readiness and AI Governance Readiness. It does not evaluate model weights and it does not replace model validation.
Where something could not be assessed, the measurement says so and says why, rather than reporting a result the evidence does not support.
Workforce Readiness and AI Governance Readiness are reported separately and side by side, and are never combined into a single number.
Measurement is ongoing rather than one-off: the same measurement can be repeated as evidence, capability and requirements change.
See what the evidence already says.
Start with a baseline and find out where your organization stands.
